The Zig, the new home of Echo Energy, remains closed as the company continues to prioritize the health of employees. While Echo leadership has been working round-the-clock to protect the safety and wellbeing of our Echo community, Echo leadership has also been considering the same issues on a broader scale in the Oklahoma City community.
Over the last few weeks, Echo Founder and CEO, Christian Kanady, has partnered with teams of researchers from Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and OU Health Sciences Center and other distinguished experts from Harvard, Stanford, Duke and Purdue to pioneer innovative and implementable solutions to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The result – dubbed the START Coalition – leverages the interdisciplinary expertise of top medical researchers, national leaders in healthcare, government, business and technology to understand the nature and transmission of infectious outbreaks while designing sustainable applications for prevention.
This groundbreaking initiative will begin right here in Oklahoma City. Christian and the START team are designing a bespoke program, tailored for the Oklahoma City population. This pilot program will provide more tests, technology and the critical data needed to keep Oklahomans safe. The results of START’s research in Oklahoma City will provide a blueprint for other cities as they work to tackle the same challenges across the country.
START Coalition’s incredible work is a true testament to Christian’s commitment to Oklahoma and passion for revitalizing Oklahoma City through innovation. START is paving the way to make Oklahoma safer, stop the spread of the virus and allow people to resume their lives in peace.
