Name: Sele Elens-Eigbokhan
Job Title: Director – Finance and Corporate Development
How would you describe your role in one sentence?
I assess new investment opportunities, analyze and report company finances to relevant stakeholders, and raise capital for future investments.
What was your path to your current role?
I received my bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University. Thereafter, I honed my corporate finance expertise at the Nielsen Company and Avis Budget Group before receiving my MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Post-Darden, I became an oil and gas investment banker at Wells Fargo Securities in Houston, TX and joined Echo Energy in 2018.
What has been your favorite project at Echo?
Working with our executive leaders to raise capital to invest in minerals.
What is your favorite part about your role?
I love that Echo is a small business; hence, I get to see my projects directly impact the bottom line.
How have you managed to stay focused during remote work?
Replicating our office environment at home has made it easy to stay focused on my deliverables.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Spend quality time with my wife and two children.
What is the number one item on your bucket list?
To go skydiving.
What person, living or dead, do you admire most and why?
Nelson Mandela for his tenacity, wisdom, and magnanimity.
What motivates you to follow a good leader?
Leading by example.
